Beam spread

B

A beam spread is a definition used to describe the lighting distribution of a certain light source or fixture as it hits a surface.

Tip from a lighting designer

At Studio De Schutter we use the information on beam spread to calculate the diameter and thus the extension of the light field in relation to a given surface. This allows us to determine the spacing between the luminaires which in turn influences the contrast of the lighting.
