‘Celia’ - a modern, multifunctional chandelier.
Studio De Schutter releases first commercial lighting product, combining their knowledge of atmosphere with their distinct design aesthetic.
We’ve all struggled with trying to find the perfect solution for that central ceiling outlet. The one that requires a lighting fixture that is versatile, yet functional, is modern and creates a statement. The one you would turn on in the daytime, when it's dark and dreary outside or in the night when you wanted to curl up on the sofa for some downtime.
Finding that ideal balance has been something the team at Studio De Schutter have been working on and today we are excited to present a solution that is modern and playful, yet functional and versatile.
Redefining the lighting for that central ceiling outlet, ‘Celia’ is a modern chandelier and Studio De Schutter's first commercial lighting product. ‘Celia’ is a lighting fixture that combines the studio's knowledge of creating atmospheres with light and their distinct design aesthetic.
‘Celia’ is a multifunctional Big Light, a modern chandelier and a line drawing in space.
‘Celia’ is inspired by Jean Royère’s modern shapes and Ettore Sottsass’s playful reimagining of everyday objects. ‘Celia’ is mounted to the ceiling either with a hook or plate - making it easy to install in historical or new build projects. Using the adjustable hinges, the arms can be fixed in place and the heads directed to the floor, wall or ceiling to illuminate art, furniture, and other focal points.
‘Celia’ creates a dialogue between handmade and industrial processes.
Made from bent steel pipes connected to adjustable brass hinges with replaceable LED light sources, ‘Celia’ creates a dialogue between handmade and industrial processes. The colour temperature of the light source is adjustable for neutral light in the daytime and warm soft light in the evening. Using bluetooth, the light sources in this chandelier can be controlled by app from the comfort of your sofa, marrying technology with decorative design.
‘Celia’ has been designed with long term use in mind. Through the addition of moveable arms this light fixture is both compact for easy transportation and versatile in its usage. ‘Celia’ works in different spaces regardless of ceiling height and function.
Sustainability is hardwired into the design with the parts of this light fixture being simple to replace, dismantle and recycle.
With its distinct curves and striking design, this lighting fixture exists between the functional and decorative. ‘Celia’ is available in 3 standard colours - black, rose white and blue with further special finishings on request.
