Artificial lighting
Artificial light is light generated by a human-made source. The sources from which artificial light can be obtained are mostly powered by electricity and are a large variety. These include modern LEDs and OLEDs as well as more conventional sources such as halogen, fluorescent and incandescent lamps.
Tip from a lighting designer
We design and consult on artificial lighting in the built environment predominantly for those areas where daylight is insufficient or in over abundance. When well designed, artificial lighting not only ensures optimal visibility but also positively influences people’s moods by reducing the occurrence of disorders such as S.A.D. related to seasonal lack of daylight.
