Which colour renders white?

Since the rise of LED technology, the choice of light colour and also colour temperature has become far more complex and more variable. On paper, those light fixtures may have the same properties, but when you compare them, you'll see there is hardly any neutral white colour.

We consult with our clients to find the right colour temperature and thus the right white light. And as with all things lighting, you need to see to believe! Here below is one of our lighting mock-ups.

Kronach in Lights 2017

Also in 2017, we were part of Kronach in Lights, a lighting festival in the south of Germany. In the run-up to the festival, five lighting design workshops were held with 30 students from all over the world and led by workshop heads from Egypt, Germany, Belgium and Italy.

It was a week full of hard work, testing lighting from the moment the sun set, and revealing Kronach in a new light.

Read more about this in the recent issue of Mondo*Arc.

See the shadow

Once in a while, we get asked to give lighting seminars and lectures. It's an activity we love, and at the same time, a great opportunity for our team to continue our research on topics dear to our hearts. Shadow as a design methodology is one of them.

In 2017, we have conducted seminars and workshops in countries around Europe, and in Canada. And we're looking forward to more of these in the second half of the year!

Our bespoke lighting in action!

Here are some mood images of a project we finished a year ago. The bespoke outdoor party lighting is doing its job and creates a colorful, festive atmosphere at a party venue in Bangalore, India. Its a pleasure to see our work being used.

Winter Cities - Edmonton

Just a few weeks ago, we where in Canada for the Winter Cities Shake-Up Conference, which shed light on all elements that are related to winter design and create liveable winter cities. And as they say “practice what you preach”, the city wanted to demonstrate how creative lighting can transform another wise dull lit street into a meeting point.

We created, for the duration of 4-days, a low-resolution installation that shows how creative lighting can transform public spaces. The installation invites for interaction as then the spectacular multiple coloured shadows come to show. Thus the user creates the lighting effect.

See here more the work in progress pictures that where nicely captured by Shayne Woodsmith, from Make Something Edmonton.

Thank you Edmonton, for making this a wonderfull experience!
